Built-In Languages
First of all, we now have built-in languages for 12 different languages! Instead of having to look for mod, speakers of these languages can just click to change to their language of choice. It was really cool working with a lot of different languages and we learned so much through the localization process. For other languages, you can still check the mods to see if your language is available!
Bugs Fixed and Quality of Live Improvements
There were a lot of bugs introduced by the Version 1 build, and we’re sorry about some of the worst ones you folks experienced. We put out hotfix after hotfix and feel the game is now much more stable. Thanks to everyone who sent in bug reports, and once again we’re very sorry you all experienced this. Lots of little fixes here and there based on suggestions from players and localizers. Some of our favorite QoL improvements are below.
Student Roster Searching and End of Year Favorites
We now have searchable student rosters in the game so you can more easily find your favorite students. You can search for students in the end of year exams now, as well as favorite them in the end of year as well.
Flagpoles can use Different Flags
A nice little visual treat, you can now use different flags per flagpole, in case you want to make your own little United Nations type school. We’ve also improved the functionality for searching for flags. It now comes with a searchable panel, and a preview of the flag.
New Hotkeys
We added new hotkeys after requests from our veteran players to be able to access some common commands.
New Animations and Particle Effects
We have a lot of juicy new particle effects that give that tiny extra level of immersion and delight when playing the game. I just love the little smoke puffs when the workers build stuff.
Sandbox Mode Changes
You can now start out with all students in Sandbox Mode. For those architects who just want to build out the school of their dreams and cram it full of students, now you can! Fair warning though, the game time does slow down the more students there are (this is to accommodate all the decisions the AI is making) so the days will pass by slower if you fill up the school right away.
Added New Objects Mods
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2428147093&searchtext= You can now add new objects as mods. This was also a player request that we decided to implement. You can add up to 5 each of 1x1, 1x2, 2x1, and 2x2 objects. These objects will be purely decorative, and will not cost anything. you can see a sample "skeleton" mod I made above. Find out more about how to do that here.
That’s All for Now Folks
This marks the end of active development for Academia : School Simulator. While we will be monitoring our bug reports and attending to major issues, we’re going to be taking what I believe is a well deserved break from this point on. We want to thank everyone who has worked on, played, and reviewed the game. We could not have done it without all of you!
