About adding a new language

Return to Shironagasu Island

A mystery adventure game and visual novel set on solitary Shironagasu Island. Discover its secrets, solve its mysteries, and escape from the ominous island!

Hi, I'm Onimushi Hyogo, the game creator. I'm thinking of adding a new language to the game soon, but since it costs a lot of money to add a new language, I'd like to collect users' opinions for reference. If you have any other requests, please feel free to leave a comment. This information may also be used to help you choose the language to implement in your next project. I was surprised by the unexpectedly strong response. It is possible to provide data to volunteer translators, but in that case, what kind of format should we use? The most polite way to do this is to divide the scenario into smaller parts by sentence and arrange them in a spreadsheet. This is a polite and straightforward method, but it requires a lot of time and effort to extract and insert the text. It also requires debugging again, which takes even more time. (I actually wasted about three months of my time in this localization insertion process.) The other way is to upload the programmed text data as it is to Google Drive, etc., and have the English part of the data translated into another language. In this case, the game can be implemented immediately after the translation is done, but I think this method is difficult for the translator. There is also the possibility of sharing the programmed text in Google Docs among multiple people, and having the translator update the text sequentially. I would appreciate your feedback. A spreadsheet with extracted text of the scenario has been created. (English original) If you are willing to do a volunteer translation, please send an email to the following address onimushihyogo@gmail.com In the email, please indicate the "language to be translated". I will send you permission to edit the spreadsheet. Once the translation is complete, we plan to pay some compensation to those involved in the translation. I would like to include in-game credits to make the translation official. If you need the text in simplified Chinese or Japanese, please contact me and I will try to accommodate you. ---------------------------------------------- Currently, translations into Spanish, Korean, Portuguese, Italian and Turkish are in progress. Translation from simplified to traditional Chinese is also in progress. Work on Russian, Spanish, and Korean is currently progressing smoothly. Therefore, we are no longer looking for new translators for these three languages. I would appreciate it if you could refer to these information. Hyogo Onimushi
