A preview of Upcoming Patch for Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue VR

Hello Neighbor VR: Search and Rescue

A suspenseful family-friendly VR experience set in the Hello Neighbor Universe.
Hey Hey, our fellow investigators!

Today we want to deliver some message from the dev team and share our upcoming plans for Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue VR.
Before we dive into it, thank you to all of our supportive fans for helping us continue to improve the game! We appreciate every bug report and recorded issue that has been sent to us. We are working hard to squash bugs based on which issues are most prevalent in the community. There is currently a patch in development to stabilize the game and add quality-of-life features we know folks are eager to see. Since stability and reliability are our highest priority for the first update, we want to share some details about what, exactly, we’re doing to make the player experience better. Before we get into the patch notes, we wanted to address one of the uglier bugs that the community has experienced: getting ejected from the map when switching characters. We’ve done a deep dive into the cause of this issue to ensure we handle it properly. As many of you know, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue is a physics-based game. Everything from the items in the house to the player themselves are driven by physics constraints. This adds a lot of realism to the experience, but it also opens the door for myriad issues that are not consistently present in each playthrough, like this particular problem. In this patch, we’re taking the appropriate steps to make sure that we minimize the chances of this happening. Additionally, we’re introducing a system to handle the situation properly if any player manages to find their way out of the world at some point during gameplay. The next patch will handle this issue and more, but it’s of paramount importance that the patch is also at the quality bar we expect from ourselves and that you all deserve. We are taking the necessary time to investigate, find and resolve issues the proper way so that everyone can be sure to enjoy this game of which we are exceedingly proud. While we work as quickly as we can to get this patch into your hands, we wanted to provide you with a preview of what’s to come. Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue - Patch 1 targets

Fixes for physics issues that result in getting ejected from the world
Introducing the Yeet Manager - New system created to gracefully return players to the game if they do get ejected
Implementation of Smooth-turn control option
Implementation of Teleport toggle so it can be electively turned off
Fixes to improve teleport so it is triggered when the stick is released (especially when selecting your facing direction)
Collision improvements for hiding spots so Rescue Squad members are not stuck when they switch with the walkie-talkie
Improved collision in the house so the Rescue Squad does not clip through or get stuck in the walls or ceilings
Fixed areas where automatic mantling was not properly functioning
Grab indicator improvements to eliminate jittery reticles
Enhancements to the audio systems so audio reliably plays when loading save games
Fixed the Main Menu so it always appears right-side up no matter the orientation of the headset when the game is paused
Valve Index support

Once again, we deeply appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm, support, and patience as we strive to bring you the best game possible!
