Hello everyone! If you have tried to play TABG in the past couple of weeks you may have noticed that the servers have, for the most part, been down.
The servers are currently experiencing a DDOS attack and we’ve been spending a lot of time figuring out fixes together with the server providers. DDOS attacks are quite complicated to deal with and there is no quick fix, but we want you to know we are taking this very seriously.
Below are some commonly asked questions about what’s going on to hopefully shine some light on what we’re doing:
Are you shutting down the servers for good? No, we’re not planning on shutting down the TABG servers for good any time soon. We’re working hard to get them back up and running as normal. Why don’t you get better DDOS protection? As mentioned earlier there is no quick fix for DDOS issues. We’re looking into a couple of options but it seems they would require a redesign of how the networking works in TABG which in turn would mean months of work, and we want to get the servers back up and running asap. When will you implement community servers? Currently dealing with the DDOS attack is taking up all of the time we could spend on making community servers. We are still planning on implementing them, especially since they may help with these issues but it will take a little longer. Will banning the DDOS attacker help? No, we’ve banned accounts that may be associated with the attack but anti-cheat does not mean that they cannot attack the servers. Why is someone doing this? We don’t know, it feels really shitty to bring down the servers like this when the community is quite small, to begin with. It’s heartbreaking and we don’t really understand why one would like to ruin things for thousands of people. Before we go we want to say a big thank you to the community members that have been helping us with information, it’s really great to see you all rally to help get the game back online. We would also like to thank you for being patient as we’re looking into these issues, we hope to have it sorted soon.
