ALWAYS check the grounds ahead before sending out any troops. NEVER wander off into a snowstorm if you haven't checked the ground ahead for Pit Traps - they cloak them quite treacherously. [*]It'd be good to build a Camp as your first deed on most Survival maps. [*]Even if a pack of Huntables disperses and makes catching them more difficult, you can always try and scare them with your Character to running toward Hunting Traps. [*]Try to catch at least 2-3 animals every game - rushing is often discouraged, especially in Campaigns, and the endgame (when you're going around the map destroying anything left of the enemy) becomes more difficult to survive with your remaining forces if you haven't managed to minimize Hunger even a bit.
